The Assessment Objectives

All your work in GCSE photography will be assessed under four assessment objectives, these are:

Students must demonstrate their ability to:

AO1

Develop ideas through investigations, demonstrating critical understanding of sources.

AO2

Refine work by exploring ideas, selecting and experimenting with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes.

AO3

Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses.

AO4

Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of visual language.

To help you make sense of these assessment objectives I have created a handout on each which can be found in your course handbook or downloaded from below.

The Grades

Your grades are based on numbers (9-1)

I have provided for you in your course handbook a quick guide on what the differences are between the different grades but these can also be downloaded from the link below.

During the course you will be given project specific grids that will help you find out what YOU need to do to get to the next grade.
